[09:43]<jlsna>yum install gkrellm
[09:47]<maaayg>It's weird
[09:47]<maaayg>daMaestro : are you there?
[09:47]<kzzdzpjfyan>hey opsec .. thanks however I can't see what program is running and i would also like to manually stop them
[09:47]<jlsna>ps aux
[09:47]<kzzdzpjfyan>something close to task manager or the one from gnome
[09:47]<jlsna>kill -9 <pid>
[09:48]<maaayg>Some of Webpage Letters disappear in mozilla
[09:48]<maaayg>why?
[09:48]<mzmznsvzj>doojin, dunno
[09:48]<jlsna>doojin: magick?
[09:48]<maaayg>I don't know
[09:48]<maaayg>magick?
[09:49]<jlsna>yes, magick
[09:49]<maaayg>what is magick?
[09:49]<jlsna>no one knows
[09:49]<jlsna>it just *is*
[09:50]<kzzdzpjfyan>hi opsec .. do you know the task managing program from gnome?
[09:50]<jlsna>ps
[09:50]<kzzdzpjfyan>i have this one program crashing and want to stop
[09:51]<jlsna>open a terminal .. type --> ps aux
[09:51]<jlsna>identify the problem program process id
[09:51]<jlsna>kill -9 <pid>
[09:51]<jlsna>or killall program_name
[09:52]<kzzdzpjfyan>nice
[09:52]<jlsna>if at all possible.. stay away from gtk/qt apps ..
[09:52]<jlsna>use the terminal .. unless you like someone else driving
[09:52]<kzzdzpjfyan>thanks.. i see what you mean
[09:53]<maaayg>http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/4716/weird0az.png
[09:53]<maaayg>what the hell is this?
[09:53]<maaayg>Many letters disappear
[09:54]<jlsna>you've loaded some crazy ass korean char set
[09:54]<jlsna>waht do you expect?
[09:55]<bnzdffyud>"crazy ass korean" now there's a redundancy if I ever heard one
[09:55]<mzmznsvzj>hrmm grip is still crashing for me
[09:55]<maaayg>how do you know?
[09:55]<bnzdffyud>(crazy ass can be complimentary in some situations :))
[09:55]<maaayg>opsec : if I increase or decrease the text size properly, I can see every letter
[09:56]<maaayg>But the proper size for every letter is too small or too big
[09:56]<bnzdffyud>hmm, i still have 36gb free space, and I haven't deleted anything for, like, six months
[09:57]<maaayg>damn
[09:58]<mzmznsvzj>sound-juicer seems to be fixed, however
[10:13]<vlzzrygz>hi group!
[10:13]<agv2>hi
[10:14]<vlzzrygz>my fedora core 4 machine has done automatic update of kernel. that is something that shouldnt happen :(( now i have two questions
[10:14]<vlzzrygz>1. how to desable automatic update of kernel
[10:14]<vlzzrygz>2. how to make my old kernel to start automaticly (not the one that was updated)
[10:15]<vlzzrygz>those shouldn't be hard questions for you, fedora gurus ;)
[10:16]<mzmznsvzj>tparcina, man yum
[10:16]<agv2>Yeah , only those nice fedora gurus must stick around more often
[10:16]<mzmznsvzj>you want to exclude=kernel*
[10:16]<furfd>don't select the update for kernel
[10:17]<mzmznsvzj>tparcina, you also need to edit /etc/grub.conf
[10:17]<mzmznsvzj>and change which kernel is to auto-start
[10:17]<mzmznsvzj>adjust the default= line
[10:17]<maaayg>hi
[10:17]<maaayg>It is weird
[10:18]<vlzzrygz>damaestro, thank you, i'll check ma /etc/grub.conf
[10:18]<maaayg>hgm
[10:18]<mzmznsvzj>tparcina, your welcome
[10:18]<mzmznsvzj>err you're
[10:19]<maaayg>daMaestro : did you see the picture?
[10:19]<vlzzrygz>daMaestro, one more question, is yum update automaticly turned on on fedora core 4, or ai have turned it on (and not even now it)?
[10:26]<maaayg>haha
[10:26]<maaayg>Anyone knows how to install divx codec?
[10:27]<vlzzrygz>can anybody confirm me this about grub.conf (i woudn't like to make it wrong) - if i woud like to start kernel 2.6.11 i should put default=2 - this is my grub.conf => http://pastebin.ca/59162
[10:27]<sd0cnvsv>morning
[10:28]<vlzzrygz>morning smoketst
[10:28]<maaayg>What time is it?
[10:29]<sd0cnvsv>doojin, CEST here
[10:29]<maaayg>?
[10:29]<maaayg>CEST?
[10:29]<vlzzrygz>central european summer time
[10:29]<mzmznsvzj>tparcina, which one do you want to boot?
[10:30]<vlzzrygz>demaestreo, 2.6.11
[10:30]<mzmznsvzj>yes, default=2
[10:30]<maaayg>daMaestro : do you know how to install codecs for totem?
[10:30]<vlzzrygz>ok, last question
[10:30]<vlzzrygz>demaestro, is yum update automaticly turned on on fedora core 4, or ai have turned it on (and not even now it)?
[10:31]<mzmznsvzj>yum update is not automatic (via the yum service) you need to enable it
[10:31]<mzmznsvzj>and you need to exclude the kernel if you don't want that to auto-update
[10:31]<maaayg>damn
[10:32]<maaayg>daMaestro : do you see my sentences?
[10:33]<mzmznsvzj>doojin, you need to add the codecs to places like /usr/local/lib/codecs /usr/local/lib/win32 /usr/lib/codecs /usr/lib/win32
[10:33]<vlzzrygz>ok, this http://pastebin.ca/59165 means that yum update is turned off now? or i should check for something else?
[10:34]<mzmznsvzj>tparcina, yes.. that looks to me like the yum update service is off
[10:34]<mzmznsvzj>doojin, you can get a well rounded codec pack from the mplayer site
[10:35]<maaayg>daMaestro : I extracted it
[10:35]<maaayg>./usr/lib/win32 and /usr/local/lib/codecs
[10:35]<mzmznsvzj>http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/codecs.html
[10:35]<vlzzrygz>deMaestro, thank you weary much! if you ever come in Croatia, give me a call - you have free drink ;))
[10:35]<mzmznsvzj>tparcina, thanks
[10:42]<maaayg>oops
[10:43]<maaayg>totem doesn't recognize and vlc recognizes
[10:43]<mzmznsvzj>i think you want totem-xine
[10:43]<maaayg>totem-xine can play avi files?
[10:47]<mzmznsvzj>the xine backend supports more codec.. afaik
[10:50]<lnd2jw1>i am wanting a crash cause in subversion...i am attempting the svn+ssh route
[10:51]<lnd2jw1>how do I make a repo?
