[01:00]<ezzj>Melbell_: equery u ffmpeg, i think. man equery.
[01:00]<ircmjgcnd>How can I list All installed packages in my system?
[01:00]<ezzj>IRCMonkey: Install gentoolkit, and do the following: equery l (L = List)
[01:00]<vnpnzy`>you probably know how annoying it is to delete anything you extract as a folder with rm /rmdir, but i was about to install a graphical filesystem browser just because of it
[01:00]<vnpnzy`>and i hate those.
[01:00]<mnf2nff_>ErZo: thanks, will try that
[01:00]<zezjz>I've lost a computer somewhere in my house. It responds to a ping, but I can't figure out what or where it is.
[01:00]<rnj>IRCMonkey: cd /var/db/pkg/; echo */*
[01:01]<ezzj>Melbell_: Be sure to have emerged gentoolkit, though. :)
[01:01]<vnpnzy`>azgor: did you get that off bash.org?
[01:01]<ezzj>azgor: Lame, it's not fun to steal quotes.
[01:01]<ezzj>If you did, that is.
[01:01]<zezjz>it's actually happening to me.
[01:01]<rnj>IRCMonkey: Better yet, 'cd /var/db/pkg/; for i in */*; do echo $i; done'
[01:01]<vnpnzy`>what a coincidence then. thats like the #1 voted quote off of bash.
[01:01]<xjffjwsjuf>azgor, only think i can think of is tracepath (ip address)
[01:02]<ezzj>Then, please be original and don't copy half the quote, azgor.
[01:02]<xjffjwsjuf>not much help though dependin on network setup
[01:02]<gnvsvrv>can i access another user dir without root? I created another user and only put movies in it
[01:02]<duzycs_>http://rafb.net/paste/results/vPOEru64.html
[01:02]<asvpyfjvjrrgrvjj>Guys, do any of you know what the following kernel module does: Processor type and features --> Firmware Drivers --> Dell Systems Management Base Driver (NEW)
[01:02]<zezjz>tracepath failed
[01:02]<duzycs_>netstat: eh.. why did you do that?
[01:02]<ezzj>netstat: chmod it so that others can rwx, or r-x
[01:03]<ezzj>read write execute, or read - execute
[01:03]<gnvsvrv>oh
[01:03]<ezzj>:-)
[01:03]<ezzj>chmod -R <modes> <dir>
[01:03]<2rrrmjr>cstPilotongentoo: did you look at the help file?
[01:03]<ezzj>Remember, recursive takes care of the pain.
[01:03]<gnvsvrv>chmod rwx, or r-x /home/user?
[01:03]<asvpyfjvjrrgrvjj>beandog: what help file?
[01:03]<vnpnzy`>yuriks_: maybe he set up an ftp thats chrooted into that users directory for people to upload to?
[01:03]<ezzj>chmod -R +rx /home/usah
[01:03]<vnpnzy`>perhaps.
[01:03]<2rrrmjr>cstPilotongentoo: the option to the right of "select"
[01:04]<duzycs_>pheraps
[01:04]<zezjz>I think I may have to start unplugging things from my switches until it stops responding.
[01:04]<ezzj>-R=Recursivly, will chmod files in the dir too. netstat.
[01:04]<zezjz>to figure out where it is, that is.
[01:04]<asvpyfjvjrrgrvjj>beandog: thx :)
[01:04]<gnvsvrv>thanks ErZo :)
[01:04]<ezzj>No problem netstat :)
[01:04]<rnj>azgor: Do a manual search. Follow cables. It's off topic here, k?
[01:05]<kgrw_>ReJ: is there a problem with qlist -l?
[01:05]<kgrw_>er
[01:05]<kgrw_>-I
[01:05]<ezzj>equery -l works fin too
[01:05]<mnf2nff_>ErZo: thank you that worked, i found my problem i thin
[01:05]<mnf2nff_>k
[01:05]<rnj>Knaw_: You tell me. qlist doesn't seem to support the -l option on my system. :)
[01:05]<kgrw_>haha
[01:05]<ezzj>Melbell_: Alright, glad it helped. :)
[01:06]<gnvsvrv>ErZo, how do we change back to normal? lol
[01:06]<ezzj>netstat: normal? man chmod :)
[01:06]<gnvsvrv>chmod -R -rx?
[01:06]<ezzj>yeah, i guess. :o
[01:06]<gnvsvrv>cool
[01:06]<gnvsvrv>thanks again man
[01:06]<ezzj>or set chmod -R 744 or something like that. :)
[01:07]<gnvsvrv>aha
[01:07]<ezzj>7=readwriteexecute for owner, read and up.. something for group and world
[01:07]<2rrrmjr>find . -type f -print0 | xargs -0 chmod 644; find . -type d -print0 | xargs -0 chmod 755
[01:07]<ezzj>:o
[01:07]<2rrrmjr>That will "fix" them back to default
[01:07]<2rrrmjr>Just run it in the DIRECTORY of things you want to fix.
[01:07]<ezzj>netstat: I can't remember the numbers, quite sleepy atm ;P I'm sure there are some references in man :)
[01:07]<gnvsvrv>yeah
[01:07]<ezzj>Alright, going for sleep. Take care all o/
[01:08]<asvpyfjvjrrgrvjj>Anyone know if the 'Dell laptop support' module works on the I6K?
[01:09]<zj0zfnz>Can someone give me a hand getting direct rendering with my Dell Inspiron 600m?
[01:09]<sxrdgns>Hello all!
[01:09]<qt9drgan>go0gler, have u tried google?
[01:09]<zj0zfnz>The card is a ATI Radeon R250 lf revision 02.
[01:09]<yrmyrj2fu>anybody use SSHFS and Gnome (whenever I use nautilus on a SSHFS mount, nautilus closes without any error message).
[01:09]<zj0zfnz>QT4Dance: I'm sure I could find something. But I don't have X right now.
[01:10]<krkus>pessoal
[01:10]<krkus>brasil?
[01:10]<sxrdgns>I need help setting up SSH to allow remote login for user "root" only by SSH keys and not password entry and I still need users to be able to "su" if logged in remotely via SSH as a different user.
[01:10]<rnj>KaKuS: Try #gentoobr
[01:11]<ggmmdsgrrjjg>shaynes, you should not permit root logins via ssh at all
[01:11]<krkus>[ReJ]: tks
[01:11]<qt9drgan>go0gler, OK I will check google for u
[01:11]<zj0zfnz>QT4Dance: Thanks! :)
[01:11]<sfd006>Hi, I've got a nice python error message when I execute emerge, does anybody see the cause: http://pastebin.com/727314
[01:12]<rnj>go0gler: lynx or elinks work without an X dependent web browser.
[01:12]<zj0zfnz>ReJ: Compiling it as we speak. But...
[01:12]<qt9drgan>go0gler, are you sure it is not FireGL 9000
[01:12]<sxrdgns>NeddySeagoon: I need to (business reasons) but only want SSH keys to work.
[01:13]<zj0zfnz>QT4Dance: That's right.
[01:13]<zj0zfnz>QT4Dance: It is.
[01:13]<ggmmdsgrrjjg>shaynes, whats wrong with su from a user ?
[01:13]<qt9drgan>go0gler, have u tried anything yet
[01:13]<irdevxjs>roger55, thanks
[01:14]<sxrdgns>NeddySeagoon: There are services that need to be running that need root access. It shouldn't be an issue if root doesn't accept any passwords and only keys.
[01:14]<zj0zfnz>QT4Dance: A while back, yes, I did. But I had to revert it, because then X died.
[01:15]<2rrrmjr>shaynes: not to say rtfm, but man sshd_config is easy on the eyes. :)
[01:15]<qt9drgan>go0gler, Did u get some kind of errors
[01:15]<qt9drgan>?
[01:15]<ggmmdsgrrjjg>shaynes, I don't know any way of forcing keys for a single user
