[20:34]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+hylje: /proc/bus/usb or something?
[20:34]<syzlznys>+"dystopianray> sirpreis: gtk-qt-engine, or something?"
[20:35]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+sirpreis: oh it was a gtk theme that used your qt theme for gtk stuff, same fonts and colours and what not
[20:35]<xdfan>+hmm
[20:35]<xdfan>+id like to mount that too
[20:35]<gu2nn>-Does portage execute prelink (if it's installed) only to update checksums, or does it actually prelink?
[20:35]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+sirpreis: it might have been removed from portage :S
[20:36]<syzlznys>+:/
[20:36]<sfdlldz9>+hi, i wanted to do "ln -s /dev/nst0 /dev/tape" , but have it come back after boot. how can i do that?
[20:37]<zgdznwdza1>-Can anyone help me with "DRM module not built" error while emerging ati-drivers?
[20:37]<awnsjdn-jq000>+help! I am emerging through ssh via putty, I hit scroll lock by accident and I cant seem to get it unlocked - how can I undo this and not lose my emerge?
[20:38]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: you should be using screen
[20:38]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: then you could have just killed putty and started it up again and not lost anything
[20:39]<awnsjdn-jq000>+dystopianray even if I didnt detach the screen when it pooped out?
[20:39]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: yes
[20:39]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: you just reattach when you ssh back in
[20:39]<awnsjdn-jq000>+wow! emerging screen now - I didnt know it could save me from screwups
[20:39]<dzsfjgd>-How do I permanently mount some volumes?
[20:40]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+DrSlony: add them to /etc/fstab
[20:40]<awnsjdn-jq000>+how do I emerge x11 again ( i was at 68 out of 78 packages)
[20:40]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: emerge xorg-x11 ?
[20:40]<awnsjdn-jq000>+without having to re-emerge everything - --resume?
[20:40]<dzsfjgd>-thx
[20:40]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: it'll only emerge what has yet to be emerged
[20:40]<awnsjdn-jq000>+without --resume?
[20:40]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: each package is independant, so it'll start again at the 68th package and do the remaning 10
[20:41]<awnsjdn-jq000>+wow
[20:41]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: yes
[20:41]<awnsjdn-jq000>+nice
[20:41]<awnsjdn-jq000>+I sure did miss gentoo
[20:41]<sfdlldz9>+except it'll now say emerging 1 out of 11
[20:41]<mszzzm>+if i follow the instruction to offline instalation, i installed everything prebuilt packaged i want, then do emerge --sync . may i continue from the net?
[20:42]<awnsjdn-jq000>+hmm - cant use screen with emerge if theres a USE variable?
[20:42]<srmsprn>+anyone know how u report GPL violations?
[20:43]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: yes you can
[20:43]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: screen just starts another terminal, do whatever you want in there
[20:43]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: use flags should be getting added to /etc/make.conf or /etc/portage/packages.use anyway
[20:43]<awnsjdn-jq000>+dystopianray should I use the -dm option and then reattach it or something?
[20:43]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: ??
[20:43]<awnsjdn-jq000>+dystopianray its just for this, specifying the video driver
[20:43]<zgdznwdza1>-Zefiris are you here?
[20:43]<duzycs_>-ok, WTF is wrong with timidity?
[20:44]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: specify the video driver in /etc/make.conf
[20:44]<duzycs_>-timidity: Can't read any configuration file.
[20:44]<duzycs_>-Please check /usr/share/timidity/timidity.cfg
[20:44]<asvpyfjv>-dystopianray: my files are the same as yours
[20:44]<awnsjdn-jq000>+dystopianray just -d or what?
[20:44]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+cstPilot: then you have some other problem
[20:44]<duzycs_>-yuriks init.d # ls /usr/share/timidity/timidity.cfg -l
[20:44]<duzycs_>-lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 Apr 29 18:17 /usr/share/timidity/timidity.cfg -> /etc/timidity.cfg
[20:44]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: screen -r
[20:44]<duzycs_>->_>
[20:44]<awnsjdn-jq000>+dystopianray it doesnt work like that with modular x, im pretty sure thats a one time thing
[20:44]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: screen doesn't involve X in any way
[20:44]<asvpyfjv>-dystopianray: any ideas?
[20:44]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+cstPilot: nope
[20:45]<asvpyfjv>-dystopianray: well, thanks anyways
[20:45]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+cstPilot: start again with a fresh acpid config and see if that works
[20:45]<awnsjdn-jq000>+it didnt look like video_cards_nvidia video_cards_v4l wwere meant to be system wide
[20:45]<awnsjdn-jq000>+if Im wrong plz let me know
[20:45]<sgrdfn>+my hardstats line in screen becomes buggy when creating regions...
[20:46]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: they are
[20:46]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: did you read the modular x guide?
[20:46]<awnsjdn-jq000>+dystopianray yes
[20:46]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: it's not just X that uses the video_card variable
[20:47]<frgscrlnv>-uhm uhm.. Make: warning clockscrew detected, your build may be incomplete
[20:47]<frgscrlnv>-is that good when compiling your kernel? :DD
[20:47]<frgscrlnv>-agh im tired of this crap
[20:47]<awnsjdn-jq000>+dystopianray I didnt read it close enough :) looks like i'll need to re-emerge it after all - whats the proper emerge option for this? -n right?
[20:48]<awnsjdn-jq000>+oh and screen -r is for resuming
[20:48]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: just do the same command you did last time
[20:48]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: emerge xorg-x11 or whatever you were doing
[20:49]<frgscrlnv>-isn't there any way of getting the standard genkernel configuration for the 2.6.15 kernel instead of that buggy 2.6.16 one??
[20:49]<awnsjdn-jq000>+dystopianray yeah it wont matter anyhow since i just put it in but those get their own sections, dont they?
[20:49]<awnsjdn-jq000>+they arent part of the USE variable or are they
[20:50]<zgdznwdza1>-Can anyone help me with ATI Drivers?
[20:50]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: just add them to /etc/make.conf and start the emerge again
[20:50]<awnsjdn-jq000>+oh for christs sake, I left out keyboard input too.
[20:51]<awnsjdn-jq000>+someone please kick me in a sift area
[20:52]<zgdznwdza1>-can anyone help me?
[20:52]<sfdlldz9>+andrewmac3 have you followed http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_ATI_Drivers
[20:52]<zgdznwdza1>-yeah
[20:52]<zgdznwdza1>-thats why im so stuck
[20:52]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+andrewmac3: did you read the ati faq?
[20:52]<zgdznwdza1>-yeah the one you sent me
[20:52]<zgdznwdza1>-ive been doing this all morning
[20:53]<lnvvndr>+I get errors when trying to add drives using winecfg... and nobody in #winehq is responding. Anybody know why I would get this:
[20:53]<lnvvndr>+err:winecfg:apply_drive_changes unable to define devicename of 'C:', targetpath of '/home/petteyg359/.wine/drive_c'
[20:53]<rmzyrrg>-xgl compilen duurt nog best wel lang... hij is nu al 2 uur aan het prutellen
[20:53]<zsc>-Adriaan: #gentoo-de
[20:53]<zgdznwdza1>-it never builds DRM
[20:53]<rmzyrrg>-rsk, nl
[20:54]<zsc>-oh ok :)
[20:54]<rmzyrrg>-rsk, sorry was in wrong window
[20:54]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+petteyg: you shouldn't need to set C:\ to anything, wine will do that automatically
[20:54]<awnsjdn-jq000>+dystopianray should I do an emerge -avn on it now that I corrected my make.conf errors or should I re-emerge it when its done?
[20:54]<awnsjdn-jq000>+oh nice, nvidia drivers
[20:54]<lnvvndr>+dystopianray: it does that with _all_ drives, and I need to access CD and floppy...
[20:55]<mdsvjldzgzzd>+Awesome-o2000: if you were specifying the video_card and input_devices variables on the command line previously with the emege, then just add them to /etc/make.conf and run the emerge again, otherwise yes you'll probalby need to use the -N flag again
