[23:24]<frd2dr-djgcnd>I tried to upgrade "system", so that i'd have a reasonable platform to try to upgrade to "modular x11" with. However, when i tried to upgrade, it said a new portage was available. once i installed the new portage, suddenly "emerge --update --deep system" was trying to pull in X packages (which refuse to install, which is why i'm doing the upgrade in the first place)
