[00:19]<ggmzr>hey
[00:20]<ggmzr>can anyone help me validate this one page im having trouble with it please
[00:20]<ggmzr>http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.maggiegrace.org%2Fgallery%2Fvideos%2F1%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline
[00:20]<ggmzr>the page is http://www.maggiegrace.org/gallery/videos/1/
[00:20]<ggmzr>everything else on my site is validated except that
[00:20]<20rv>&, not just &
[00:21]<ggmzr>even in links?
[00:21]<20rv>Everywhere.
[00:21]<ggmzr>I see
[00:21]<ggmzr>one moment
[00:22]<ggmzr>absolutely everywhere?
[00:23]<znysyj>not for ©, etc.
[00:23]<20rv>For the bare ampersand.
[00:23]<znysyj>lose the wmode transparent in your object element
[00:23]<20rv>All & are part of references/entities.
[00:23]<znysyj>you can probably just do a global replace for 'flv&' to 'flv&'
[00:24]<znysyj>course I think it's just two lines all those errors are coming from :p
[00:24]<ggmzr>my system cant do global replaces it uses smarty
[00:24]<ggmzr>i gotta fix it in source brb
[00:24]<znysyj>line 44/45, in your object
[00:25]<ggmzr>ok
[00:25]<ggmzr>all that is left is wmode transparent
[00:26]<znysyj>you've already got it in a param, so you shouldn't need it in the object, anyways
[00:26]<ggmzr>!v http://www.maggiegrace.org/gallery/videos/1/

[00:27]<ggmzr>hrm
[00:27]<ggmzr>yuppers thanks!
[00:27]<mnzncs>hi. i want to access a cookie saved on my computer in html... is that possible?
[00:27]<mnzncs>no javascript
[00:28]<mnzncs>client side
[00:28]<znysyj>access how?
[00:29]<mnzncs>reisio: i want to have a cookie at my site with something like email address, and then have an image that uses the value taken from a server
[00:29]<mnzncs>does that make sense?
[00:29]<mnzncs>i guess email address isn't a good example
[00:29]<mnzncs>so username
[00:30]<ggmzr>how are you storing this cookie?
[00:30]<mnzncs>endra: a cookie
[00:30]<mnzncs>previously
[00:30]<mnzncs>already stored
[00:31]<ggmzr>the only cookies I know how to use are w/ php sessions, sry
[00:31]<zyzwzvn>what is SOAP?
[00:31]<mnzncs>so i want to be able to do something like: <img src=site+cookievalue+".jpg">
[00:31]<ggmzr>airwave: a cleansing agent made from the salts of vegetable or animal fats.
[00:31]<mnzncs>airwave: a way to do remote functions
[00:31]<mnzncs>rpc
[00:31]<mnzncs>remote procedure call
[00:32]<zyzwzvn>derekS: so where can I read up on it, so I can learn how to implement it?
[00:33]<2eeygpenne>hey. I downloaded a mod for my SMF forum software that allows ads to appear at the top of the forum. Is it possible with html/CSS to make the ads rotate?
[00:34]<mnzncs>airwave: what do you want to do with it
[00:34]<mnzncs>i am sure you can google for the specs
[00:36]<gjss>brainfreez: no. but you're probably asking the wrong question.
[00:36]<mnzncs>also, is it possible to get cookies from another domain, like a subdomain, so instead of www.mysite.com i can get it from site1.mysite.com even though the user is on www.mysite.com?
[00:36]<2eeygpenne>noss, so what question do i ask?
[00:40]<gjss>brainfreez: "Would anyone be willing to consult me how to modify my forum's ad system so i can rotate between different ads?" and then some variations of "see it in action at <URL>", and "i can pay you"
[00:42]<2eeygpenne>you think it'll work without the "i can pay you" thing?
[00:42]<2eeygpenne>seriously... i'm gonna pay a guy to do that? you must be joking
[00:42]<znysyj>noss: just use an ad system...
[00:42]<znysyj>there's one with php in its name
[00:43]<znysyj>phpAdsNew, that's it
[00:43]<znysyj>have fun
[00:43]<2eeygpenne>the mod says 'add your code here' will i be able to put PHP in there?
[00:44]<znysyj>um...huh?
[00:44]<2eeygpenne>oh
[00:44]<gjss>you people are weird.
[00:45]<znysyj>:p
[02:48]<2eeygpenne>nite nite folks
[02:48]<znysyj>peace-o
[03:06]<dnznac>what is that website that takes screenshots of your webpage in different browsers?
[03:07]<20rv>`shots
[03:07]<20rv>`browsershots
[03:07]<20rv>hm
[03:07]<20rv>iCapture, ieCapture, browsercam.com (costs money)
[03:07]<20rv>browsershots.org I think
[03:07]<20rv>There's a list in there somewhere, if I can find it
[03:08]<znysyj>`browser shots
[03:08]<rtfs>browser shots: Free: browsershots.org , danvine.com/icapture/ , danvine.com/iecapture/ ; Pay: browsercam.com (see fundables.org)
[03:08]<20rv>That's the one
[03:17]<dnznac>hey, is there any reason why backgrounds would show up on some computers and not on others?
[03:18]<suv9w9> I need your CSS power guys. I have a little experiment that parses CSS3 layouts on the server into content a present browser can understand. Due to lack of support, this is.. tables (this is only experimental). To solve the inherent accesibility issues of tables, I'm trying techniques to change the table linearization so it looks properly in screen readers and pocket devices. I have it working fine in Firefox, but I have a small issue in IE. Anyone interested
[03:18]<suv9w9>http://pastebin.ca/101586
[03:19]<dnznac>suv4x4, ask #css
[03:19]<suv9w9>yes, I asked just.. noone seemed interested
[03:20]<dnznac>as they said, we'd need a link
[03:20]<dnznac>or full code
[03:21]<suv9w9>ok full code
[03:22]<gjss>heh. http://stockholm.craigslist.org/w4m/172466318.html
[03:22]<dnznac>hey, is there any reason why backgrounds would show up on some computers and not on others?
[03:23]<dnznac>heh @ noss
[03:24]<znysyj>noss: roflcopter
[03:33]<dnznac>does anyone have an answer to my question?
[03:35]<gjss>css support is optional.
