[00:14]<rgmygyus>g/ 2
[00:14]<v2j>Germany vs. Argentina ... who is gonna win?
[00:15]<rgmygyus>tbo, me.
[00:16]<v2j>good to know
[00:16]<rgmygyus>mmmmfullthrottle
[00:17]<rgmygyus>So lately I've taken to the taste of the sugar free energy drinks
[00:18]<rgmygyus>known good cable.
[00:21]<rgmygyus>hm.
[00:28]<2zdrgf>have you guys seen visor?
[00:28]<v2j>bryanl: the simbl plugin for terminal.app?
[00:29]<2zdrgf>tbo: yeah
[00:29]<v2j>if so, yes I use it
[00:29]<v2j>it is most cool way to use the terminal
[00:30]<rgmygyus>Oh I'm pissed now
[00:30]<v2j>why?
[00:30]<rgmygyus>It's not been the network
[00:30]<rgmygyus>At all
[00:30]<rgmygyus>The bottleneck is that damn USB drive
[00:30]<zllzggvyag>where can i find a manual or something on os x
[00:30]<wrw>anyone know how to setup one of the internal imac cams for streaming?
[00:30]<wrw>like via a webserver or somesuch
[00:30]<v2j>apprentice: manual for what?
[00:31]<njyr>>.>
[00:31]<njyr><.<
[00:31]<wrw>^.^
[00:31]<njyr>:P
[00:31]<zllzggvyag>all the os x feature i wanna see waht the whole deal on os x is
[00:31]<zllzggvyag>cuase i tried it and i was confused
[00:31]<zllzggvyag>i found no sense
[00:31]<wrw>apprentice: there isn't that much native to osx that's strange
[00:32]<zllzggvyag>what do you mean
[00:32]<wrw>umm, its unix, and a pretty simple (yet visually pleasing) interface
[00:32]<wrw>i've just got a couple of hacks that make it more usable, and its fine
[00:33]<zllzggvyag>well dude i wanna be honest but if i do youll think im a troll
[00:33]<wrw>?
[00:33]<wrw>they think i'm a troll here too, its okay :)
[00:33]<zllzggvyag>well lets get trolling then
[00:33]<zllzggvyag>well i was at the apple store and i tried the mac book
[00:34]<zllzggvyag>cuase im gonna buy one
[00:34]<zllzggvyag>annd i mean i always thought that os x was awesome
[00:34]<zllzggvyag>i had a windows theme it looked just like it
[00:34]<zllzggvyag>but when i tried it i was disappointed
[00:35]<wrw>umm
[00:35]<wrw>well, i'm an oldschool windowmaker user
[00:35]<hrrdrwry>hello
[00:35]<wrw>and half my work is done in the terminal
[00:35]<zllzggvyag>i mean waht didnt make sense was how things work on the dock bar thing
[00:35]<wrw>apprentice: for osx, i installed this thing to make alt+tab better, virtual desktops, and set it up so the top right corner does the expose thing
[00:35]<wrw>apprentice: its not hard
[00:35]<zllzggvyag>i know ive used linux
[00:35]<zllzggvyag>and such
[00:35]<nj2nv>apprentice: it took me little over a week to get used to OS X... but now i love it. you'll notice that working with it is slower than XP, but that it because everything is smooth, fades and animates, so it is a lot more enjoyable... then spotlight and exposé is a gift from heaven that XP/Vista will never do as good... and also, no memory leaks so you never have to reboot
[00:36]<wrw>apprentice: there's still a lot of things i don't like about my osx install
[00:36]<wrw>apprentice: but i've fixed most of them that were initially bothering me
[00:36]<zllzggvyag>but u see it isnt all that apple makes it to be
[00:36]<zyzxzzmp>eobet: no memory leaks? heh thats amusing
[00:37]<wrw>anything in rosetta feels like a leak
[00:37]<wrw>lol
[00:37]<wrw>and i think wow leaks
[00:37]<zllzggvyag>so you see os x windows and liunx are all full of problems
[00:37]<nj2nv>at least when you close the apps, the memory seems to return... i've run my MBP for weeks without a problem and a friend's powerbook uptime was 2 months...
[00:38]<zllzggvyag>ive had my computer for 2 months
[00:38]<zllzggvyag>i know a dude that had it for 3 years
[00:38]<rgmygyus>I think my PowerMac's USB2 card sucks.
[00:38]<zllzggvyag>and those are windows
[00:39]<cxdnz>osx application of the week: http://www.notdustin.com/istache/
[00:39]<cxdnz>that's what we need to talk about
[00:39]<zllzggvyag>so is there an os x manual
[00:39]<cxdnz>not people discussing kernel-level memory management and not spelling anything properly while they're doing it
[00:40]<v2j>khmer: lol
[00:40]<zllzggvyag>so khmer
[00:40]<zllzggvyag>why is the dock bar so wierd
[00:40]<rrfygw>khmer: nice :)
[00:40]<2gjva>does anyone know how to fix what iTerm sends as a backspace?
[00:40]<cxdnz>apprentice: liberal treachery
[00:40]<zllzggvyag>?
[00:40]<zllzggvyag>i mean even the windows clones are more instinctive
[00:41]<cxdnz>apprentice: "Turn Magnification On" option planted by communist shills in cupertino
[00:41]<zllzggvyag>communism is jesus's way
[00:41]<wrw>i don't think i'd get an apple laptop
[00:41]<cxdnz>i mean, buddy, are you expecting the folks in an osx discussion room to chat idly with a dude who's just flailing about offering generic criticism of look and feel?
[00:41]<cxdnz>look, tell me you don't like the dock's functionality X or Y.
[00:41]<cxdnz>tell me you'd like to drag things to the main dock that aren't .app packages
[00:42]<cxdnz>but don't just say it sucks
[00:42]<v2j>apprentice: jesus was everything but communist
[00:42]<cxdnz>and for christ's sake be readable
[00:42]<v2j>well, at least I hope so ;-)
[00:42]<cxdnz>anyway, everyone in iStaches
[00:43]<zllzggvyag>why not
[00:44]<cxdnz>apprentice:
[00:44]<zllzggvyag>well sorry.
[00:44]<cxdnz>i'm not sure what you expect to achieve by telling usd
[00:44]<v2j>communism is the doctrine of the liberation of the workers, jesus never tried to liberate anyone
[00:44]<cxdnz>s/usd/us
[00:44]<zllzggvyag>i just wnana know how to make the bar work. cuase if u open safari
[00:44]<zllzggvyag>there is one icon
[00:44]<zyzxzzmp>tbo: yes he did
[00:44]<zllzggvyag>you click you get the smae window
[00:44]<zllzggvyag>you odnt get another one
[00:45]<zllzggvyag>you need to find it on the top bar
