[00:00]<mrrygmrg>the only reason i can think of it not being auto added is adium doesn't respond to that
[00:03]<[g-pzydn]>That took far too long..
[00:08]<mram>i'm having trouble getting xchat to register with growl
[00:08]<mrrygmrg>what did you update G-prime?
[00:09]<[g-pzydn]>MacinMan: I updated Quicktime.
[00:09]<mrrygmrg>wow quicktime isn't a long update
[00:09]<[g-pzydn]>Then a developmental update for Quicksilver upon booting back up.
[00:09]<mrrygmrg>oh ok
[00:09]<v2j>hmm, does anyone know, why I can't save MP3 files in Safari when I'm directly load the in the browser?
[00:09]<[g-pzydn]>I know, I couldn't connect back into IRC.
[00:10]<[g-pzydn]>tbo: "directly load the in the browser"??
[00:10]<v2j>[G-Prime]: in a link like host.com/music.mp3
[00:11]<[g-pzydn]>tbo: Ah I see..
[00:12]<[g-pzydn]>tbo: No I can't say I know why. If you're loading them directly, then are you not simply going to a separate page for the MP3 to play?
[00:12]<v2j>when I do "save as", it saves just a file but no MP3
[00:12]<nprysvjs>do you know a good application that show wifis links without security ?
[00:14]<[g-pzydn]>tbo: Does it say what it's saving the file as?
[00:14]<zyf0r>back
[00:14]<nj2nv>[G-Prime]: my magsafe stopped blinking now... and my macbook pro is still very cool to the touch, btw...
[00:14]<nj2nv>utter weirdness
[00:14]<v2j>[G-Prime]: but even file thinks it is an MP3
[00:14]<[g-pzydn]>efaistos: Do you mean unencrypted wifi?
[00:14]<[g-pzydn]>eobet: What did you do? Restart?
[00:14]<nprysvjs>how do you make aleft bracket?
[00:15]<rgmygyus>efaistos: { ?
[00:15]<rgmygyus>err [?
[00:15]<nprysvjs>aedinius: dont have it on my keyboard
[00:15]<zyf0r>efaistos: kissmac
[00:15]<nj2nv>[G-Prime]: shut down, removed battery, removed RAM lid, made sure everything looked OK (it did) replaced... magsafe was still blinking... then after an hour or so, i noticed it wasn't blinking anymore... solid green light now...
[00:15]<ausvyg>That's what you get for being a foreigner.
[00:15]<[g-pzydn]>efaistos: Is that even possible?
[00:15]<szgdsvzjd>efaistos: without security, just use istumbler!
[00:15]<nprysvjs>istumbler ?
[00:16]<szgdsvzjd>google!
[00:16]<[g-pzydn]>efaistos: http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=istumbler&btnG=Google+Search&meta=
[00:16]<nj2nv>[G-Prime]: btw, magsafe was still blinking after i replaced the battery, when the computer was still turned off!
[00:16]<[g-pzydn]>eobet: That is just too weird.
[00:17]<zyf0r>maybe a stucked pin on the magsafe ?
[00:17]<zyf0r>did you check that ?
[00:17]<[g-pzydn]>Zil0g: Good call - didn't think of that.
[00:17]<mrrygmrg>what's this "magsafe"?
[00:17]<nj2nv>[G-Prime]: yeah... well, i'm going to put the computer to sleep overnight, and check how much battery has been drained in the morning... if it is down to 50% again, something's still not right
[00:17]<nj2nv>night, night!
[00:17]<[g-pzydn]>MacinMan: http://images.google.ca/images?hl=en&q=magsafe&btnG=Google+Search&sa=N&tab=wi
[00:17]<[g-pzydn]>eobet: Goodnigh. :)
[00:18]<[g-pzydn]>Goodnight**
[00:18]<zysa>hey all
[00:18]<zyzxzzmp>hey risc
[00:18]<zyf0r>[G-Prime]: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303566
[00:18]<[g-pzydn]>Greetings.
[00:18]<zysa>hiya RichardP
[00:19]<zysa>installed 10.4.7 now my MBP has that 2 finger right click :D
[00:19]<zysa>woo hoo!
[00:19]<zysa>I'm cool again!
[00:19]<zyf0r>hey nice :0
[00:19]<rgmygyus>risc: Hm, we'll have to fix that
[00:19]<mrrygmrg>looks like it';s the power cord
[00:19]<zyf0r>2 finger click was not working before ?
[00:19]<[g-pzydn]>Zil0g: Ahhh I see. Hm, I wouldn't have thought of that.
[00:20]<zysa>Zil0g nah it was only an option on the 17" and the MacBooks
[00:21]<zudl>someone should make a mbp accessory thats paper thin and snaps to the bottom to keep it cool
[00:21]<zysa>rump I think that is called asbestos ;)
[00:21]<zysa>mine runs perfectly cool though
[00:21]<zudl>mine runs 60C, what about urs
[00:21]<zysa>I think the heat issues are luck of the draw
[00:22]<zysa>at idle it sites on 38-40'C
[00:22]<zyf0r>risc: i thought it was enabled on mbp 15" also
[00:22]<yz2mrvym>anyone here done the thermal paste replacement on a macbook?
[00:22]<[g-pzydn]>I've got one of the earlier models, so the heat problems are present.
[00:22]<[g-pzydn]>irbdavid: News to me.
[00:22]<zudl>i just got this this week from a store that does lots of turn around so i imagine i have one of the later models
[00:23]<zudl>i'm sitting 27C right now but i just turned this thing on
[00:23]<yz2mrvym>thinking about getting one
[00:23]<zyf0r>there is a firmware update for the heat issue on mbp
[00:23]<zudl>this is not a good idea to leave this thing on 24/7
[00:23]<zysa>my machine has been on all night (so say 15 hours straight) and it is cold to the touch
[00:23]<zudl>grr
[00:23]<zudl>uptime, what's your load average
[00:24]<[g-pzydn]>Mine is cold to the touch, or slightly warm when it idles overnight, but as soon as I start using it, and multitasking my apps, it heats up quite a bit.
[00:24]<zudl>you have 15, 2/2.16, 17?
[00:24]<zysa>rump that isn't really important, when I got this thing I flogged both cores at 100% for 7 hours and I had no problem picking it up, that was enough testing for me
[00:24]<[g-pzydn]>Although it does seem a bit better since the 10.4.7 update last night.
[00:24]<yz2mrvym>how hot are we talking about [G-Prime] ?
[00:25]<zudl>risc, what about battery life, are you able to get more than 2.5-3hrs with normal operation and half screen brightness?
[00:25]<zysa>[G-Prime] that happened to me with my old PowerBook it ran bloody hot then 1 day there was a software update and it got cool
[00:25]<zudl>i am thinking about switching my 15mbp for mb
[00:25]<[g-pzydn]>irbdavid: Well not extreme enough to burn, but it's pretty damn hot.
[00:25]<yz2mrvym>mbp or mb was that?
[00:25]<zysa>rump I get around 3 to 3 1/2 hours using wireless, and I think the screen is on about 80%
[00:25]<zudl>thats not bad i guess
[00:25]<[g-pzydn]>irbdavid: MBP 2Ghz
[00:26]<zudl>risc, 2 or 2.16
[00:26]<zysa>rump this is a 5/25 - 5/28 model, must of been a good run
[00:26]<zysa>2.0
[00:26]<zysa>anywho work calls have fun guys
[00:26]<zudl>im jealous
[00:26]<ggrfrvgm>I only get like 2.5 at full brightness off this powerbook
[00:26]<ggrfrvgm>but it's had very few cycles
[00:27]<[g-pzydn]>irbdavid: Back - had to get the phone. Yeah, MBP 2Ghz 15.4"
[00:28]<zudl>ok just ran yes >> /dev/null twice
