[00:00]<rgmygyus>Oh
[00:00]<rgmygyus>What about it?
[00:01]<rgmygyus>I should make that front page a little more professional.
[00:03]<2jfzjm>hoe verander ik ook alweer makkelijk resolutie in fluxbox?
[00:03]<wjgcgu>eheh rump :)
[00:04]<agp>bolrod: asking linux questions in dutch on an english osX channel...
[00:04]<smgm1>Schwarzenegger gave to PM tony Blair: a 60 gb Ipod, black, natch, with a leather case -- preloaded with songs about California. Among the 108 songs included on the nifty gift -- which fits 15,000 by the way: "Hooray for Hollywood," "California, Here I come," "I Left my Heart in San Francisco," and more.
[00:04]<agp>bolrod: you awake?
[00:04]<2jfzjm>oh sorry :/
[00:04]<2jfzjm>no.12 chan was normally dutch linux chan
[00:04]<2jfzjm>;/
[00:05]<smgm1>Haha
[00:06]<smgm1>Nice! http://homepage.mac.com/timhaigh/macbookremote.jpg
[00:06]<ggrfrvgm>DID HE GIVE HIM CALIFORNICATION?!?!
[00:07]<zznd->so I figured out by accident the other day how to launch frontrow without the remote
[00:07]<zznd->I was happy
[00:07]<a1>or "Going back to cali" Notorious BIG
[00:07]<smgm1>Cmd-esc :P
[00:07]<zznd->so since I figured that out.
[00:07]<a1>or Tupac Feat. Dr. Dre: California
[00:07]<zznd->now that pic just looks dumb
[00:07]<ggrfrvgm>Or california by that one band
[00:07]<ggrfrvgm>that's all californiaaaaaa, californiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
[00:07]<zznd->before yesterday I would've been all "A hah!"
[00:07]<a1>hotel california by the eagles ?
[00:07]<ggrfrvgm>hotel california!
[00:08]<smgm1>I would have put the "America: Fuck Yeah!" on his iPod
[00:08]<ggrfrvgm>lol
[00:08]<ggrfrvgm>Why is that remote taped to the macbook like that?
[00:08]<smgm1>From the Team America movie
[00:08]<smgm1>enclaved: It's magnetized
[00:08]<ggrfrvgm>I see
[00:08]<ggrfrvgm>Why the hell did they put magnets there on the macbook?
[00:08]<smgm1>http://www.kyeschung.com/macbook_remote.jpg
[00:09]<smgm1>enclaved: The "latch"
[00:09]<smgm1>Duh.
[00:09]<zznd->clevar
[00:09]<ggrfrvgm>shouldn't that be in the center?
[00:09]<smgm1>The magnet goes all the way around
[00:09]<ggrfrvgm>oh
[00:09]<ggrfrvgm>That's silly
[00:09]<zznd->synd3: so leave it on the back?
[00:09]<ggrfrvgm>That's a lot of magnet
[00:09]<wjgcgu>magnet are dangerous for magnetic date :)
[00:09]<wjgcgu>data*
[00:09]<ggrfrvgm>They should have kept the same magnetic latch system from the powerbook
[00:09]<wjgcgu>and for electronic in general
[00:09]<ggrfrvgm>that's nice
[00:10]<ggrfrvgm>and i still haven't broken the latch since it gets sucked back in when you open it
[00:10]<smgm1>The iBook has those as well
[00:10]<zudl>synd who is your carrier
[00:10]<smgm1>The MacBook is just a bit cleaner with no latch slit
[00:10]<smgm1>rump: Wireless?
[00:11]<zudl>yes
[00:11]<smgm1>rump: T-Mobile
[00:11]<zudl>ah, that's why you want n93
[00:11]<smgm1>Well, that and the fact that the N93 kicks ass
[00:11]<ggrfrvgm>I feel fucking stupid copying this phone list that lists Emergencies 911
[00:11]<smgm1>But my N91 is great, too :)
[00:12]<zudl>i want n93 but must settle for 73 as i need the 850mhz
[00:12]<smgm1>Time to plaster some walls
[00:12]<zudl>fg synd3
[00:12]<ggrfrvgm>I think he means masturbate and come on the wall
[00:13]<dznzdnz1>ok
[00:13]<dznzdnz1>wireless mighty mouse is awesome :-)
[00:14]<dznzdnz1>no more red glow either
[00:14]<ggrfrvgm>now it glows blue, no?
[00:16]<dznzdnz1>it doesn't glow at all
[00:16]<dznzdnz1>laser i think
[00:16]<dznzdnz1>but i dunno
[00:17]<ggrfrvgm>OH OK
[00:17]<ggrfrvgm>I thought there was a blue led that someone took off to save the battery light
[00:17]<fygwnx>is it possible to clone a system volume onto another drive (eg for upgrading the main disk in a machine) ?
[00:17]<ggrfrvgm>Look under neath of it for a blue led that indicates onness
[00:17]<a1>linxeh: absolutely
[00:17]<a1>easy way: Carbon Copy CLoner
[00:17]<fygwnx>does that come free?
[00:17]<a1>yah
[00:18]<a1>i use a command line program called psync
[00:18]<a1>what OS version you running?
[00:18]<fygwnx>10.4.7
[00:18]<zudl>isnt it weird apple calls their OS, OS
[00:18]<fygwnx>I don't want to do it just yet, but I can see the 40gig drive in my mac mini isn't going to cut it much longer
[00:18]<a1>yea that should be fine to use either of those, but also the built in system commands (cp -R or rsync or whatever) as the native commands handle resource forks now
[00:18]<ggrfrvgm>rump: no
[00:18]<ggrfrvgm>if only everyone did that
[00:18]<ggrfrvgm>things would be so much simpler
[00:18]<fygwnx>rump: isn't it macos?
[00:19]<a1>linxeh: my 40gig internal on my mini IS that backup - i run it offa external firewire, and clone the master drive to the mini's internal as a backup
[00:24]<fygwnx>j3: k - thanks :)
[00:32]<ggrfrvgm>it's way to hot here

[00:34]<ggrfrvgm>PA
[00:34]<lzvzwac>ah. it's hot here too, in Ontario
[00:35]<zjzw>extremely hot, heat index of 100 today.
[00:36]<lzvzwac>I'm betting on blackouts.
[00:38]<gnjd>You got AC?
