[00:00]<dnpjzdrvyvn>comparable*
[00:00]<duc_wjzc>Deformative: spec-wise, yeah
[00:00]<dnpjzdrvyvn>Well then it will compile slowly, and defeat the entire purpous of haveing mac os.
[00:00]<dnpjzdrvyvn>x.x
[00:00]<eyg>-"flatpanel screen"
[00:01]<zudl>deformative, it has 2.16ghz dual core
[00:01]<zudl>duo
[00:01]<zudl>it has plenty of compile power haha
[00:01]<duc_wjzc>omg, I heart my new phone
[00:01]<zudl>these things are lightening fast
[00:02]<dnpjzdrvyvn>No, laptop prossessors compile slower than pc prossessors even if their speed in ghz is faster.
[00:02]<dnpjzdrvyvn>Simular to how pentium is slower than amd.
[00:02]<zudl>that's a poor generalization
[00:02]<vnaxzusx>who cares about compiling anything arent you running Mac OS X
[00:02]<vnaxzusx>(like the name of the channel)
[00:03]<sxzzcxzv>lol
[00:03]<sxzzcxzv>what a funny new little conversation
[00:03]<zudl>my macbookpro is a ton faster than my more expensive desktop
[00:03]<dnpjzdrvyvn>[Notices the first thing I asked was if it can be installed via vmware.]
[00:03]<zyzxzzmp>ladies and gentlemen, Im glad to inform you that the Troll is now in session
[00:04]<zudl>well running anyting in vmware will give you crappy compile times heh
[00:04]<sxzzcxzv>it IS friday
[00:04]<sxzzcxzv>and it IS 4:00 pm (here in central us)
[00:04]<vnaxzusx>indeed it is
[00:04]<sxzzcxzv>so it IS time for trollin'
[00:04]<dnpjzdrvyvn>>.> Bai.
[00:04]<zudl>and sharkhat will be crying himself to sleep tonight
[00:04]<sxzzcxzv>lol
[00:04]<sxzzcxzv>why is that rump?
[00:04]<rxrsrjg>thanks guys, I'll be back
[00:05]<sxzzcxzv>i like to compile things on osx
[00:05]<zudl>dunno why i said that heh
[00:05]<zudl>i thought about friday night and a hot date
[00:05]<sxzzcxzv>especially with distributed compile in xcode, very freakin useful for us
[00:05]<sxzzcxzv>rump o haha
[00:06]<zudl>i like being married
[00:06]<zudl>don't havta deal with all that shit
[00:06]<sxzzcxzv>got a 11 minute compile time down to about 3 minutes with 8 computers
[00:06]<zudl>just start with a couple pecks and access granted
[00:06]<sxzzcxzv>HAHA
[00:07]<sxzzcxzv>o rump i never thought of it like that
[00:07]<sxzzcxzv>but o how tur
[00:07]<sxzzcxzv>*true
[00:07]<sxzzcxzv>like some magic key or somthing
[00:07]<sxzzcxzv>but the quest fucking SUCKS to get that key
[00:07]<sxzzcxzv>llol
[00:07]<zudl>hahaha
[00:07]<sxzzcxzv>i'd go with a group
[00:07]<zudl>i like the analogy
[00:07]<zyzxzzmp>OSX update, bbl
[00:08]<sxzzcxzv>lol.. err.. what am i talking about again? haha
[00:08]<eyg>so, is there a way to create dmg files under linux?
[00:09]<zudl>okay next task. sync notes between osx and symbian... by *some* method...
[00:09]<duc_wjzc>rump: you can't just send it note files thru bluetooth or something?
[00:09]<ajzf-dufn>what?
[00:09]<zudl>yeah but the sync on my phone will do it automatically...
[00:09]<zudl>i can even select the database it will read from on the computer
[00:09]<zudl>so theres a way
[00:10]<gnjd>:o
[00:10]<duc_wjzc>hehe
[00:11]<gnjd>Under interface colours on x-chat aqua, does anyone know what the colour for the nick name before the text someone just typed is called?
[00:11]<gnjd>Sorry, I dont' know how to explain that better.
[00:11]<gnjd><-- that text colour
[00:16]<gnjd>Found it.
[00:22]<zjzw>wish you could change the highlight color for the nickname when someone mentions your nickname.
[00:22]<nwp>emacs irc client does that :)
[00:23]<nwp>it also notifies you via the modeline that your nick was mentioned and in what chan
[00:23]<zjzw>e1f: which one do you use?
[00:23]<nwp>erc
[00:23]<zjzw>is that the best one you think? there are a few I think.
[00:24]<nwp>http://www.ee.ryerson.ca/~elf/pb/images/ScreenCapture-July05.png
[00:24]<nwp>that's a typical screen-cap
[00:24]<zjzw>does it require any other modules on 21.3?
[00:25]<nwp>should be fine
[00:25]<zjzw>e1f: each channel is its own buffer?
[00:25]<nwp>yes
[00:25]<zjzw>is there a console or server messages buffer too?
[00:25]<nwp>yes
[00:25]<nwp>http://www.ee.ryerson.ca/~elf/pb/mac-dot-emacs
[00:25]<zjzw>hmm, i'll have to try it.
[00:25]<nwp>those are my settings
[00:25]<zjzw>since I love Emacs so much. B)
[00:25]<nwp>erc settings are there
[00:26]<nwp>at the bottom
[00:27]<nwp>you have to uncomment the lines
[00:27]<nwp>and change the nick, of course :)
[00:27]<zjzw>which emacs build are you using these days. compiling from CVS or some other?
[00:28]<nwp>the japanese built one. december 2005 panther release
[00:28]<snvuym>Looks like that iMac Dual Core was a scam... just got a reply back:
[00:28]<snvuym>http://rafb.net/paste/results/fMfIyb85.html
[00:28]<nwp>link is on my journal main page on the sidebar
[00:28]<zjzw>e1f: ok, same here I think
[00:29]<nwp>i d/l the may release but i haven't installed it
[00:30]<nwp>looking at the screenshot, you see the [#z,#f,#web,#p,i] in the modeline, those are the channels: zsh, freedesktop, web, perl, and the server channel
[00:30]<nwp>#z is blue, b/c someone either joined or parted
[00:31]<nwp>i is red, b/x i was messaged by the server to identify myself
[00:31]<zjzw>I see
[00:32]<nwp>so if some on in #perl had mentioned my nick, #p would have turned yellow
[00:33]<nwp>you start erc with m-x erc-select (i guess, i should mention that in the .emacs file)
