[00:00]<ggrzjsrg>ErinR: hehe, heya erin ;)
[00:00]<duc_wjzc>aedinius: code what though?
[00:00]<dza|zdvnz>RichardP_: I tried to get JBuilder to run the other day.. that's when I figured that out
[00:00]<zyzxzzmp_>mac|gyver: Java on Intel systems is Intel only, but its easy to fuck it up
[00:00]<dza|zdvnz>indeed
[00:00]<rgmygyus>muk_work: ... code
[00:00]<zyzxzzmp_>ErinR: OI!
[00:00]<zyzxzzmp_>:(
[00:00]<rjr2>is it a big deal to have non ecc memory instead of ecc ones?
[00:00]<rgmygyus>joab: It depends.
[00:00]<zyzxzzmp_>:D
[00:01]<rjr2>aedinius: on what?
[00:01]<rgmygyus>joab: The machine.
[00:01]<dza|zdvnz>cool!
[00:01]<rjr2>aedinius: well, for the mb?
[00:01]<duc_wjzc>aedinius: k, thx
[00:01]<dza|zdvnz>latest ADC: http://www.macosforge.org/
[00:01]<rgmygyus>joab: MB doesn't use ECC
[00:01]<rgmygyus>joab: So you'd be wasting money
[00:01]<rjr2>aedinius: great :)
[00:01]<rgmygyus>joab: and iirc, ECC memory tends ot be slower
[00:01]<_xl_>joab: it depends
[00:03]<rjr2>aedinius: because applestore charges about 600 USD for 2 GB ram (2*1024) while a computer store in town charges about 270 USD for the same (albeit Kingston ValueRAM)
[00:03]<rgmygyus>joab: Whoa whoa
[00:04]<rgmygyus>joab: You can get it way cheaper online
[00:04]<rgmygyus>joab: $140 to $160
[00:04]<rgmygyus>Mine was $160
[00:04]<rjr2>really?
[00:04]<rjr2>where?
[00:04]<rgmygyus>Yeah
[00:04]<rgmygyus>newegg.com
[00:04]<rjr2>ah.. they dont shop to sweden
[00:04]<rgmygyus>OH.
[00:04]<rjr2>already tried getting something else from there
[00:04]<rgmygyus>Anyway
[00:04]<rgmygyus>Even in Sweden, you can get RAM cheaper online.
[00:05]<rjr2>i'll look around
[00:08]<rjr2>btw, has anyone got as good video quality as in the images of the mb?
[00:08]<rjr2>with the builtin isight
[00:11]<drfyr_>..
[00:12]<rjr2>i tried it briefly with ichat av and it looked like shit more or less... not quite like in the pictures
[00:14]<zysa>joad there is an app called iGlasses that can improve the quality
[00:14]<rjr2>but this image... must be faked: http://www.apple.com/se/macbook/isight.html
[00:15]<zysa>joab I'm on reasonable broadband and I've never seen anything coming close to the picture quality they show on apple.com
[00:16]<rjr2>i tried it on a local network with airport extreme/express (54mbit) and it didn't look close to as good as that
[00:16]<ezygz>_hp_, ping!
[00:16]<ajgnscjj>joab: for macbook, likely fake.
[00:17]<ajgnscjj>joab: but iMac, it's possible
[00:17]<zjzw>they probably used a real iSight B)
[00:17]<rjr2>are those better?
[00:17]<rjr2>i thought they were the same
[00:17]<ajgnscjj>iMac has much better camera
[00:17]<zjzw>yeah, they're better
[00:17]<ajgnscjj>I guess the big iSight is the same or better as iMac
[00:17]<zjzw>joab: don't let the name fool you.
[00:18]<ajgnscjj>macbook camera is soo small compared to iMac camera
[00:18]<rjr2>ok.. how does parallels work on the macbook?
[00:18]<zysa>if it works the same as on a MacBook Pro it's great
[00:18]<zysa>* depending on what you want to do with it
[00:19]<ezygz>_hp_, come back here please
[00:19]<rjr2>dunno... just wondering. does it use one of the cores?
[00:20]<duc_wjzc>oy
[00:20]<duc_wjzc>err, mt
[00:20]<zysa>work calls
[00:20]<zysa>oh and it uses both if it needs to iirc
[00:23]<dsycdr>Hi everyone. Do any of you know BBS (client) software for Mac OS X?
[00:23]<ljjlsdyvx>You know, IAEA and IKEA are only one letter apart. Significant?
[00:23]<rjr2>ikea is the best
[00:23]<ljjlsdyvx>msikma: You're still using BBS? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet
[00:23]<dsycdr>Hehe, that would be hardcore
[00:24]<dsycdr>Nah, I've actually never used it! But I feel like I'm missing out on a piece of internet history. Surely, it must be possible to connect to a BBS server even this day.
[00:24]<ljjlsdyvx>Maybe, but why would you WANT to?
[00:24]<zjzw>msikma: you mean a terminal emulator with serial support?
[00:24]<duc_wjzc>msikma: http://www.bbsclient.net/allclients.html
[00:24]<dsycdr>Thanks, muk_work.
[00:24]<duc_wjzc>there's names to lok for at least
[00:25]<duc_wjzc>good luck installing or making any of em work though :P
[00:26]<dsycdr>Haha, I guess that maybe I can just settle for the screenshots, then...
[00:26]<duc_wjzc>lol
[00:26]<ggrzjsrg>despite all my rage im still just a rat in a cage
[00:26]<ggrzjsrg>DESPITE
[00:26]<duc_wjzc>there's pbs specials and crap about the BBS
[00:28]<ggrzjsrg>call me HARDY HAR HAR
[00:31]<ggrzjsrg>boosie bad ass
[00:32]<-- czydygrffc9 xrs f>www.FileRip.com - Download videos off youtube, myspace, google, putfile!")
[00:36]<frv20d>rorx: i downloaded both of the iso files i seen on the FBSD server and per your suggestion i downloaded 6.1 release. i noticed on the site there was 6.1 beta. how long has 6.1 been a full release?
[00:37]<zjzw>Fatb0y: A few months now. You should be able to tell by the timestamps for those directories.
[00:37]<frv20d>may 7 per the file desc
[00:37]<frv20d>i wasn't paying attention
[00:38]<frv20d>is it warranted to burn both cds or just need the one for install? i figure i will compile most things from ports
[00:38]<ggrzjsrg>just burn disc 1
[00:38]<frv20d>its been a while since i installed bsd but it should come back to me a bit
[00:38]<frv20d>i tried 5 when it was still beta some time ago
[00:40]<frv20d>do you have a desktop gui on your bsd box or just all command line? i think i built gnome on the last variant i was using
[00:41]<ggrzjsrg>bad bitch hair did nails feet too
[00:41]<ggrzjsrg>OHH SHIT
[00:41]<zjzw>Fatb0y: I have a desktop machine too, but it just went dead 2 days ago, so need to rebuild it.. but even so, it's a dual boot and my job requires I deal with Windows quite a bit, so I rarely used BSD as a desktop. So, yeah, I use it primarily as a server for myself. I also remotely manage several servers for clients.
[00:41]<ggrzjsrg>thats how im ridin, rorx
