[00:09]<lyllyag>./build.sh: /usr/src/tooldir.NetBSD-3.0-i386/bin/nbconfig: not found
[00:09]<lyllyag>how can this be fixed?
[00:09]<lyllyag>any idea?
[00:09]<dzezycssjg>./build.sh tools
[00:09]<lyllyag>ok :)
[00:10]<dzezycssjg>:)
[00:16]<vjgyj>or -T tooldir if it is searching for tools in the wrong place
[00:19]<2frmno0o7>hello, I'm trying to mopboot a vax, and am running into essentially this error:http://mail-index.netbsd.org/port-vax/2002/12/03/0012.html
[00:20]<2frmno0o7>it looks like the boot file is an ELF one rather than a mop one and I only have mopa.out available for the conversion. any ideas?
[00:28]<2frmno0o7>nevermind.. just found pr #19248
[00:30]<rraffsax>if you can't find a working `boot` I've got one (in case the HEAD snapshots are borked)
[00:38]<2frmno0o7>jakllsch: based on the pr above this has been broken for some time.. 1.5.3 seems ok - not sure if it will netboot the elf kernel though. I'll see if HEAD is better.
[01:21]<dydyc>numba wan
[01:23]<dydyc>any one alive?
[01:28]<dzezycssjg>Probably quite many
[01:28]<dydyc>is there anything in pkgsrc to spoof MAC ?
[01:30]<dzezycssjg>try pkgsrc.se
[01:30]<dzezycssjg>www. that is
[01:30]<dydyc>thank you
[01:30]<dzezycssjg>May I ask what you are trying to do ?
[01:31]<dydyc>trying to spoof MAC on my wifi card
[01:31]<dzezycssjg>Oh, to get access to a wlan with mac-address filtering ?
[01:32]<dydyc>no comment
[01:32]<dzezycssjg>:)
[01:33]<dzezycssjg>If so, you'll probably be better of using just ifconfig to change your mac-address :)
[01:33]<dydyc>i thought about doing that
[01:34]<dydyc>i'm trying to get bsd-airtools to work
[01:34]<dydyc>no clue why they didn't put them in pkgsrc
[01:35]<dydyc>because in freebsd they have it in ports
[01:35]<dzezycssjg>airtools ?
[01:35]<dydyc>never tried that mrErikson ?
[01:36]<dzezycssjg>No,, what is it ?
[01:37]<dydyc>google it up
[01:37]<dydyc>bsd-airtools
[01:37]<dydyc>you'll like that
[01:37]<dydyc>pretty nice features
[01:37]<dydyc>to have laying around ; )
[01:38]<dydyc>that is if you're into wireless networking at all
[01:42]<dzezycssjg>Sure,, I actually owned a wifi-provider back in the late 90s :)
[01:46]<dydyc>really, fascinating
[01:46]<dzezycssjg>Not really :)
[01:46]<dzezycssjg>Just another way of making a living :)
[01:47]<dydyc>BBS ?
[01:47]<dzezycssjg>bbs ?
[01:47]<dydyc>you owned a BBS ?
[01:47]<dzezycssjg>Like a buliting bord system ?
[01:47]<dydyc>oui
[01:47]<dzezycssjg>Eh, no,,
[01:48]<dzezycssjg>What does a bbs has to do with a wifi-provider ?
[01:48]<dydyc>you could setup a wifi bbs
[01:48]<dzezycssjg>Why would I want to do that ?
[01:49]<dydyc>why people own BBSs ?
[01:49]<dzezycssjg>Well, these days, I have no idea
[01:50]<dzezycssjg>Back in the early 90s, I would understand it, but these days? :)
[01:50]<dydyc>well some people maybe don't want to throw information out in the open
[01:51]<dzezycssjg>That's where ssl and password-encryption comes into the picture :-)
[01:52]<dydyc>so do fbi agents ;)
[01:52]<dzezycssjg>Anyway, I'm not saying that people shouldn't have bbs'es, or that there are no reasons for them,, But I don't really see a reason for doing something like a wifi bbs..
[01:52]<dydyc>there's a lot of them in NYC
[01:52]<dydyc>you'd be surprised
[01:53]<dydyc>it's really like an access point
[01:53]<dydyc>but before you go into browsing your stuff
[01:53]<dydyc>browser redirects to few pages
[01:54]<dzezycssjg>Well, back in the days that I was doing that, there wasn't really much use of something like that
[01:54]<dydyc>to each his own i guess
[01:55]<dzezycssjg>sorry ?
[01:55]<dydyc>everybody does his own thing
[01:56]<dzezycssjg>Sure :)
[01:57]<dzezycssjg>But please understand, back in 1999, we covered this entire town with wireless access, and did not encounter one single alien access point or network :)
[01:57]<dzezycssjg>The equipment was way to expencive back then
[02:08]<dydyc>sounds good mrErikson
[03:28]<fysx->good bye
[05:20]<lyllyag>how can I force build.sh _not_ to clean?
[05:21]<lyllyag>ah
[05:21]<lyllyag>-u
[05:35]<vydjpjgya>OMFG: http://hardware.slashdot.org/hardware/06/06/23/2214250.shtml
[05:35]<vydjpjgya> Amendment To Kill Broadcast and Audio Flags
[05:35]<vydjpjgya>If the amendment does not pass, we will be faced with mandatory DRM in video and audio devices, and with a prohibition on the use of Open Source software for such devices (because it can be modified to remove DRM).
[05:52]<hl-cjdlrf>Should I upgrade from NetBSD 2.0.2?
[05:52]<wvxww_>dunno...
[05:54]<hl-cjdlrf>Is it feasible to upgrade?
[06:37]<dydyc>hail
[06:43]<2rff>hello Dimik
[07:49]<ajjrmjr>what system id is a default netbsd filesystem?
[07:50]<ajjrmjr>and if I had a whole drive that I wanted dedicated to UFS2 filesystem type how would I build it so that it was able to be mounted by other *bsds & possibly linux?
[07:55]<slwnw>coondog: NetBSD is 169. FreeBSD will probably be able to use any disklabel by using the MBR partition's slice device. NetBSD needs a label for every MBR/BSD partition you want to use (ie, you define labels for them in NetBSD's disklabel that are outside its own MBR partition).
[07:57]<ajjrmjr>offset 63
[07:57]<ajjrmjr>?
[07:58]<slwnw>what?
[07:59]<ajjrmjr>nvm, sorry wrong channel
[07:59]<ajjrmjr>sphex, so when I do a newfs /dev/sd0d, i get 'd' partition type is not '4.2bsd'
[07:59]<ajjrmjr>?
[07:59]<ajjrmjr>why would it say that when it's sys id is 169
[08:01]<slwnw>coondog: the ID in the MBR or the disklabel?
[08:02]<ajjrmjr>I used fdisk and put the id in there
[08:02]<slwnw>that's a MBR ID
[08:02]<wvxww>i have a really bad question
