[00:09]<2rff>I forgot I was in here.
[00:10]<wrffd>came back to your senses? (:
[00:10]<2rff>I HATE microsoft installers.
[00:10]<swdsxd>just rebuilt domu kernel with gateway support and still get
[00:10]<swdsxd>diomeda# ipnat -l
[00:11]<swdsxd>ioctl(SIOCGNATS): Input/output error
[00:11]<swdsxd>:\
[00:11]<2rff>Now I have to start right from scratch.
[00:11]<kgpzgg>swishy: ipf -E ?
[00:12]<sgzmnz_lb>for what reason can only the/a superuser put the sticky bit on plain files?
[00:12]<2rff>I just had to dd /dev/zero onto the ntfs partition
[00:12]<swdsxd>Kefren: ah yes
[00:12]<swdsxd>thanks
[00:12]<swdsxd>working sweet
[00:13]<srrdrrg>www.russianbride.com?
[00:13]<swdsxd>rotfl
[00:13]<srrdrrg>:P
[00:13]<swdsxd>sjamaan: no :)
[00:13]<sgzmnz_lb>in sticky(7) it is mentioned that ``NetBSD does not currently treat plain files that have the sticky bit set specially, but this behavior might change in the future.
[00:13]<swdsxd>Snader_LB: yeah all depends on external infulence
[00:14]<swdsxd>Snader_LB: coffee and coke seem to be the main contributions to such
[00:14]<swdsxd>;p
[00:16]<sgzmnz_lb>hm?
[00:19]<swdsxd>Snader_LB: ah nm bad pun re sticky bits
[00:20]<sgzmnz_lb>swishy: sticky as in: weed joint?
[00:21]<swdsxd>Snader_LB: no as is spilt coffee/coke
[00:21]<swdsxd>s/is/in/
[00:21]<swdsxd>:)
[00:21]<sgzmnz_lb>a'ight
[00:21]<sgzmnz_lb>;-)
[00:32]<2rff>I am /so/ tempted to just install NetBSD now.
[00:32]<sgzmnz_lb>ball: then do so! ;-)
[00:32]<2rff>Two different DVD-ROM drives have failed to install MS Windows.
[00:32]<2rff>...I have no idea why
[00:32]<srrdrrg>ball: impressive :)
[00:32]<2rff>Snader_LB: I'm supposed to install Windows first.
[00:33]<2rff>sjamaan: perhaps I'll just break the seal on another disc, just in case.
[00:33]<srrdrrg>heh
[00:33]<2rff>I arrived on site about 12:30.
[00:33]<2rff>It's now 16:27
[00:33]<sgzmnz_lb>ball: because Windows would otherwise overwrite the MBR?
[00:33]<2rff>...still no progress.
[00:33]<2rff>Snader_LB: correct.
[00:34]<sgzmnz_lb>damn that OS
[00:34]<2rff>Have I mentioned recently that I don't like MS Windows very much?
[00:34]<sgzmnz_lb>ball: no
[00:34]<sgzmnz_lb>:-)
[00:34]<2rff>FOUR STUPID HOURS!!!
[00:34]<srrdrrg>ball: Perhaps it's the IDE controller
[00:34]<swdsxd>perhaps its bills fault
[00:34]<2rff>sjamaan: Doubtful, one of the DVD-ROM drives is usb
[00:34]<swdsxd>;p
[00:34]<srrdrrg>heh
[00:35]<2rff>I'd hate to have to send this mainboard back
[00:35]<2rff>...especially since it runs NetBSD.
[00:36]<2rff>...I can't put NetBSD on the user's desktop though.
[00:36]<2rff>They're not ready.
[00:36]<srrdrrg>woot
[00:36]<srrdrrg>3.1
[00:37]<ugnw>:))
[00:37]<2rff>By the time I get Windows installed, 3.1 will be out already.
[00:37]<2rff>GAH!
[00:37]<swdsxd>maybe even 4
[00:37]<swdsxd>;)
[00:53]<sgzmnz_lb>why does chmod o+t don't produce any effect?
[00:54]<sgzmnz_lb>chmod u+t and g+t can be used, doesnt't matter which one you choose
[00:55]<fxrfajs>Okay, I've been searching everywhere but only found one slim, unresolved old post on a mailinglist which discussed this matter (they did not come to any conclusion). The problem is that I've downloaded NetBSD 3.01 (i386cd-3.0.1.iso), burned it to a cd, and installed it to my i386-system.
[00:55]<fxrfajs>After the installation is done, I once again arrives at the meny, where I get the info that its finnished. I reboot. And get this when it's about to boot; "NetBSD MBR boot" "Error No Operating System". Any clues?
[00:56]<fxrfajs>I used "the entire disk" (a 40gb relativly new disk) for the installation.
[00:57]<suzvsnd>phalcos: Is it your primary disk?
[00:57]<fxrfajs>Yes. It's on Primary Master and its the only disk that exist in this machine.
[00:58]<suzvsnd>Hmm.
[00:58]<fxrfajs>Other than that, I only got a dvd which i used to install it.
[00:58]<suzvsnd>phalcos: That was pretty much all I've got. lol.
[00:58]<dydyc_>woah prism
[00:59]<fxrfajs>Well, hehe.. :)
[00:59]<fxrfajs>Is there some part I've missed? Like install the kernel or something?
[01:00]<fxrfajs>Or should the install-program do all that for me?
[01:00]<dydyc>wicked mac address there
[01:02]<fxrfajs>http://archive.netbsd.se/?ml=port-i386&a=2006-03&m=1891353 <- This is the thread where they discussed the topic if it helps.
[01:03]<sajmn>'postinstall' never really worked for me; it reports inconsistencies but when i try using the 'fix' action it just says 'not fixed' for everything without saying why. Am I missing something?
[01:06]<sajmn>Or oh, reading the script it doesn't looke like it's supposed to work (for some tests anyway)
[01:07]<rrmyf>greetings
[01:18]<srrdrrg>mawings
[01:19]<sgzmnz_lb>maw
[01:20]<rrmyf>maw sjamaan
