[00:20]<zzwffzdnz>hi ;)
[01:01]<nnvwjpp>Memory: 320M real, 10M free, 186M swap in use, 1804M swap free
[01:35]<r9fv-u70>Netwolf, you really ought to get that vmstat looked at, it doesn't provide the right information ;P
[01:45]<nnvwjpp>g4lt-U60: I'm running out of ram ;-)
[01:48]<r9fv-u70>well, what the hell are you doing running solaris on 320M anyways? get thee to micron ASAP boy
[01:52]<zzwffzdnz>Q: those older netra's with 2x 18gb scsi hd 500mhz are those nice machines?
[01:53]<zzwffzdnz>T1 AC200
[01:53]<r9fv-u70>they're like SB100s, with real disks
[01:53]<zzwffzdnz>but they are decent right?
[01:53]<zzwffzdnz>better then a X1 with ide disks
[01:54]<r9fv-u70>the X1 IS a SB100
[01:54]<zzwffzdnz>oh
[01:54]<zzwffzdnz>lol
[01:54]<zzwffzdnz>then i was just repeating your anwser in another way ;)
[01:55]<zzwffzdnz>g4lt-U60: are you running sol10 on it?
[01:55]<r9fv-u70>NV16 IIRC
[01:55]<r9fv-u70>right now, it's running XMMS and providing me with music ;)
[01:56]<nnvwjpp>Rawplayer: I have one
[01:57]<nnvwjpp>Rawplayer: http://hub.mail.ac/
[01:57]<nnvwjpp>and g4lt-U60, you can run Solaris 10 fine on a small machine like that
[01:57]<zzwffzdnz>o right
[01:57]<zzwffzdnz>"music"
[01:57]<zzwffzdnz>;)
[01:57]<nnvwjpp>albiet, you need to heavily tune all the services you run ;-)

[01:59]<nnvwjpp>ph33r that :P

[01:59]<zzwffzdnz>that guy wants 200 euro
[01:59]<r9fv-u70>Netwolf, do you really want me to prtconf to the channel? ;P
[01:59]<zzwffzdnz>is it to much?
[01:59]<nnvwjpp>hehe
[02:00]<nnvwjpp>g4lt-U60: http://hub.mail.ac/?p=10
[02:00]<r9fv-u70>Rawplayer, I paid $750 two years ago for mine
[02:00]<r9fv-u70>I alos, courtesy of jp7, packed that baby full of RAM
[02:01]<nnvwjpp>I paid $65 for my Blade 100
[02:01]<r9fv-u70>bitch
[02:01]<nnvwjpp>500 Mhz, 256 MB RAM, 80 GB IDE
[02:01]<nnvwjpp>about a couple of weeks ago
[02:01]<nnvwjpp>and oh..it's canadian $
[02:01]<nnvwjpp>and this Netra T1 I have...
[02:01]<r9fv-u70>double bitch
[02:01]<nnvwjpp>I traded it for a PCI-Express ATI X700 Pro card I had lying around
[02:02]<r9fv-u70>triple bitch
[02:02]<nnvwjpp>so, now the blade 100 is the main firewall
[02:02]<nnvwjpp>usage: uname [-amnprsv]
[02:02]<nnvwjpp>OpenBSD proxy.open-systems.org 3.9 GENERIC#759 sparc64
[02:02]<nnvwjpp>and the Netra T1, the main web, mail, database server
[02:03]<nnvwjpp>I like IDE in the Blade 100. It's the quiet Seagate with some special stuff for noise
[02:03]<nnvwjpp>so the blade 100 is pretty much noiseless
[02:03]<nnvwjpp>the netra t1 is a bit noisy and it's hidden right next to my washing machine in the closet
[02:05]<lnnzan>all 1U's are loud.
[02:05]<lnnzan>hard to move enough air with 1.5" fans
[02:05]<zzwffzdnz>i just want it for mailbackup in a datacentre
[02:05]<nnvwjpp>the t1 is less noiser than the sunfire v250 and it's also less noiser than an X1
[02:05]<zzwffzdnz>the netra
[02:06]<r9fv-u70>I need to put another SLED in the SB100, prolly after I get a external SCSI card for my U60 so's I can hook up my 711 and pack it full of disks
[02:06]<r9fv-u70>(yes the external SCSI is no-op on the U60)
[02:11]<nnvwjpp>I like my SunFire V250
[02:11]<nnvwjpp>too bad it's running too hot right now
[02:15]<r9fv-u70>I ph33r looking at my SB100's prtconf :S
[02:16]<r9fv-u70>prtdiag rather
[02:17]<r9fv-u70>+em-board/cpu0 Ambient warning (43C) must be summertime :(
[02:17]<r9fv-u70>well, at least it could keep dinner warm
[02:29]<ajzryvj>hi
[02:31]<ajzryvj>having problem with booting , having solaris 10 in x86 moved the disk from c1d0 to c0d1 and cannot boot, booted into failsafe and looked into /devices/pci@0,0 but there is no device like my ide disk how can i make one ?
[02:37]<lnnzan>um, if your'e on IDE, what exactly do you mean by 'moving from c1d0 to c0d1' ? you moved it from the secondary IDE master to the primary IDE slave ?
[02:38]<lnnzan>I'm guessing you'd need to A) fix the bootloader (grub?) to know that the solaris is on that new interface, and B) fix /etc/vfstab
[02:38]<lnnzan>if you used any sort of disksuite or whatever, you'd also need to fix those tables.
[02:39]<ajzryvj>peerce yes from secondary master to primaery slave
[02:40]<ajzryvj>well i fixed both grub and /etc/vfstab
[02:40]<lnnzan>my solaris experience is strictly on sun sparc in a server environment, and most of my servers are scsi or fiberchannel
[02:40]<ajzryvj>my question is that i dont see the disk device in /dev/dsk
[02:40]<lnnzan>presumably there -is- a primary master?
[02:40]<lnnzan>I know on sparc if you change/add drives, you have to do a `boot -r` from openboot to rebuild the /dev tree, I dunno how that works on solaris/x86
[02:41]<ajzryvj>peerce, well i got solaris booting but after 5 seconds resets
[02:41]<ajzryvj>i tried -r also
[02:41]<ajzryvj>from grub
[02:41]<ajzryvj>kernel blabla kernel/unix -r
[02:41]<ruzrfys>no need to reboot
[02:41]<ruzrfys>devfsadm -Cv
[02:42]<ajzryvj>Auralis, i am in safe mode could you point the directory where devfsadm is ?
[02:42]<ruzrfys> /usr/sbin
[02:45]<ajzryvj>Auralis, still not having devices in /dev/dsk doesnt matter that i am chrooted in / disk?
[02:45]<ruzrfys>of course a chroot matters
[02:45]<ajzryvj>Auralis, didnt know that
